Mr. Ajay Vohra, joined the Firm in 1983 and was the Managing Partner of the Firm from the year 2006 to 2014, prior to his designation as ‘Senior Advocate’ by the Delhi High Court. A lawyer by profession, Mr. Vohra is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
He has been practicing in the area of domestic and international tax, including transfer pricing and is a leading arguing counsel before tax tribunals, High Courts and the Supreme Court. The Courts have often acknowledged and referred with compliments to his contribution. He has argued several cases involving complex issues having wide ramifications, which has contributed immensely to the tax jurisprudence in the country.
He enjoys enormous credibility, respect and goodwill amongst the business and professional community. Apart from litigation before Courts, he is also actively involved in advisory practice relating to M&A, international tax and transfer pricing.
Mr. Vohra has been rated as one of the “most highly-acclaimed legal experts in the Asia-Pacific region” in the field of Taxation by Asialaw Leading Lawyers Guide for each of the years 2006 to 2014. Subsequent to his designation as ‘Senior Advocate’, the Firm regularly engages Mr. Vohra for arguing important litigation matters and for advice on complex issues.


Mr. Rupesh Jain voluntarily retired as a Partner of the Firm with effect from June 30, 2017 after having served the Firm for about 24 years. Mr. Jain, who was mentor to many up and coming lawyers during his many years with the Firm, will continue to be associated with the Firm in his role of mentoring young attorneys at the Firm.
A lawyer and qualified Chartered Accountant, he headed the International Tax practice of the Firm. With experience spanning over 24 years in litigation and advisory related to tax matters, he is highly respected by clients in India and abroad. Mr. Jain advised on entire gamut of Indian and International tax related issues, which include tax implications and planning involved in cross-border amalgamations, mergers, reconstruction, restructuring executive compensation and interpretation of Double Tax Avoidance Agreements.
He also argued appeals before the High Court, Income Tax Appellate Authorities on a regular basis and is known for providing effective solutions to issues raised by the Indian Revenue authorities. Who’s Who Legal, 2015 Edition has selected Mr. Rupesh Jain, in the Corporate Tax- Advisory Lawyer category and he has also been recommended by Legal 500 for advisory and contentious tax matters. Mr. Jain has also been listed in Asia Law Profiles 2016 as a recommended lawyer.
